Located on the east side of the Square, the Wilson County Historical Museum is housed in the old sheriff's residence/office/jail. The museum is open weekdays from 1 pm to 4:30 pm. The Wilson County Genealogical Chapter is part of the Historical Society, and most of the time there is a genealogist at the museum. The museum houses the obituary index for the county, and the library houses the microfilm.
