Fireworks Safety text

With the upcoming 4th of July celebration just around the corner, all of us at the Fredonia Police Department hope that everyone has a fun and safe Holiday!!

For the 4th of July Holiday, fireworks can be discharged between the hours of 8:00 am and 12:00 midnight on June 29th through July 4th.

All Fredonia City offices will be closed on Friday, July 3rd so employees can enjoy the day.

Please take the time to read the City of Fredonia Fireworks Ordinance and familiarize yourself with all the rules and regulations regarding fireworks during this period.

Also note that anyone modifying fireworks, using for a purpose not intended by the manufacturer, or assembling any devices that cause deflagration or explosions, is a violation of the Kansas State Statue and is a felony-level violation.

And lastly, think about your pet! Animals have sensitive ears and can be extremely frightened or stressed on the Fourth of July. Keep pets indoors to reduce the risk that they’ll run loose or get injured.
