RFP #26-001 | Fredonia Police Department Facility Remodel
The City of Fredonia is planning to relocate its current Police Department headquarters from 128 Adams Street to 515 Madison Street. This proposal request addresses facility needs for the 515 Madison Street location.
1) Renovate/rehab roughly 3,000 square feet of an existing 5,810 square foot building at 515 Madison Street in Fredonia, Kansas. The project will include design services and building services for renovating the current space at 515 Madison Street into a space that meets the needs of the Police Department. The anticipated needs of the PD at this location include: a secure entryway; a secure armory; secure evidence storage; secure interview rooms.
2) a conference room; an officer bullpen; offices for command staff; two
bathrooms; and a kitchenette/break area.

City Commission Meeting: March 18, 2026 at 5:30 PM
Notification of Successful Proposal: March 19, 2026
Construction to Begin April 1, 2026
Substantial Completion and Occupancy July 1, 2026
A representative from the City will reach out to the firm after receiving a Notice of Intent to Submit Proposal to schedule a location walkthrough.
It is anticipated that the Commission will approve a firm for the design-build contract at the March 18th City Commission meeting.
